My dear friend turned 40 a couple of weeks ago, but since she had just given birth she didn't have a party on the day. Instead they had a double celebration mixing up Oskar's christning and her birthday. Our present was surprise, surprise:
When the cat's away the mice will play! Camilla has been having many a problem with her cat gifting her with mice, so I figured this was the only way to go with her cake!
A year ago Filip was born, but for nine months before that, he was know only as Nemo. So now that it's the sweet boy's 1st birthday, it had to be a Nemo cake with friends and an underwater theme. I don't know the name of the little turtle, but he is by far my favourite, and I really didn't want to give him away ;o)
Once something becomes popular, it takes a bit of thought to keep reinventing it. But when you know that a little girl is so loved - it seems easy to renew by adding a heart shaped by butterflies, and so, another Hello Kitty cake was born.
My sweet goddaughter Frederikke turned six this year. She asked me to make a cake and when inquiring as to which one she would like, she replied one of each of the cakes, I have ever made. We compromised and she got a Hello Kitty cake ;o)
This was the straw that broke the camel's back. Just making and placing the tile imprint took a good hour and a half. It kept coming apart, so in the end I came awfully close to throwing the whole thing out the window!!!
